So much of what we do we don’t even do.
Our Zombie Routines do it for us.
That is to say, much of the time we’re essentially on Autopilot.
We routinely (see what I did there?) turn various basic daily life functions over to the Zombie Routines, aka the Routine Zombies.
And after that the Zombies do it for us.
And then we can forget all about it. Which we do.
The Routine Zombies are actually subroutines (in computer-speak anyways*). We don’t notice them after that because they’ve basically become just another part of our normal “routine”.
*Which, by the way, is for the most part the only way the rest of the Universe ever speaks about things—as computations and probabilities and algorithms and subroutines.
Gather from that what you will.
Though if you somehow manage to gather the actual fruit then I hope you’ve got a good shrink or spiritual advisor because you’re going to need one.
